Help with the SkyShifter app
SkyShifter is used by air traffic control units to build and share the duty roster. Your account belongs to your unit, so for most account questions your unit’s Watch Manager or SkyShifter Administrator is the quickest help. For anything else, email us at info@airtrafficdatasystems.com.
Forgotten password or no account
Accounts are created and reset by your unit, not by us — ask your Watch Manager or SkyShifter Administrator for a new password. After several wrong passwords an account is locked for about 15 minutes; wait, then try again. Once signed in, you can change your own password from the app’s menu.
Your unit code
The app asks for your unit’s code, such as EMA, before your username and password. Your Watch Manager will give it to you. If the app says it could not reach your unit, check the code and that the phone is online. To switch units, tap Change unit on the sign-in screen.
Answering an offer
When you are offered a shift, the app shows the date, shift and times, with Accept and Decline. Accepting tells your unit you are available — it does not guarantee you the shift. The app tells you how the offer ended once it has been filled.
Not getting notifications
The app asks permission to send notifications the first time it opens your roster. If you said no, turn them on in your phone’s Settings under SkyShifter. Notifications cover shifts you are offered, how each offer ended, and roster changes your unit chooses to tell you about.
Something is not working
Email info@airtrafficdatasystems.com with:
- your unit code, and whether you use iPhone, iPad or Android
- the version number, shown at the bottom of the sign-in screen
- what you were doing, and the message the app showed
Please do not send passwords or copies of your unit’s roster.
The demonstration roster
Sign in to the demo service on the sign-in screen opens a sample roster, with no account needed. Nothing there is real, and it is not connected to any unit’s data.
Privacy
Your unit controls its own SkyShifter records. The SkyShifter privacy policy explains what is held, where, and how to ask about your own data.
For Watch Managers and Administrators
Setting up a unit, licences, user accounts or the Windows desktop app: email us, or get in touch if your unit does not use SkyShifter yet.
The SkyShifter app runs on iOS 15 or later and Android 6.0 or later.
